The Natural Way To Explore Wilderness
Guests on a mobile walking safari sleep in a series of camps. Kit is transported by vehicle or pack-animal, so just a day-pack is needed while walking. This slack-packing style is the way to experience a good variety of terrain without the exertion of carrying a load.
Some camps are erected for the walking season. Alternatively a “fly camp” is used – a low-impact camp erected just for that night for the group. Each day it is taken down and transported for the next night in the wild.
There are a lot of variations in mobile safaris, and it’s feasible to plan bespoke itineraries. For example, to mix lodges and fly-camping, to use a vehicle to span a distance that is too far to walk, or stay at a location for more than one night.
Mobile Safaris are especially popular in Northern Kenya, the Luangwa valley in Zambia, and Tanzania’s Serengeti.
