Gonarezhou National Park

Gonarezhou National Park is located in southeastern Zimbabwe, near the border with Mozambique. The park covers an area of approximately 5,053km2 and is known for its beautiful landscapes, including sandstone cliffs, baobab trees, and the scenic Runde River. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and various antelope species, and black rhinos were reintroduced in 2021. The park is also a haven for birdwatchers, with over 400 bird species recorded in the area. Visitors to Gonarezhou National Park can enjoy a range of activities, including game drives, walking safaris, and camping. The park is less crowded than some of the other national parks in the region, making it a great destination for those looking to get off the beaten path and experience the African wilderness in a more remote setting.

Gonarezhou is an ideal destination for wilderness walking, with a vast and diverse area to explore.
