Damaraland is a dramatic region in north-western Namibia that is renowned for its rugged landscapes. The area is characterized by vast, rocky plains, towering mountains, and deep canyons, with the Brandberg Mountain, the highest peak in Namibia, dominating the horizon.
Damaraland is also home to a diverse range of wildlife, including desert-adapted elephants, black rhinos, giraffes, and numerous bird species. Visitors can explore the region on guided walking safaris and game drives, and learn about the fascinating history and culture of the local communities, including the Himba and Damara peoples.
Multi-day walking is available with Etendeka Walking Trails, and rhino tracking walks are guided from the Wilderness camps.
