Embark on a 10-day journey through Kenya's lesser-known upland regions, combining walks and scenic road transfers with a mix of camping and lodge stays for an immersive experience in the wild.

Your adventure kicks off with an overnight camping experience at Sanctuary Farm, nestled on the shores of Lake Naivasha. Explore the local surroundings with a guided walk and venture onto Crescent Island Conservancy. For the more adventurous, there's an option to mountain bike through the dramatic landscapes of Hell's Gate National Park.

The journey continues to Aberdare National Park, where you'll hike through its unique afro-alpine terrain. While wildlife sightings here are rare, the next destination, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, offers abundant opportunities to encounter elephants, lions, and rhinos. Guided short walks provide an up-close view of this thriving wildlife haven.

In the final leg of your trip, you'll venture into the remote wilderness of Samburu. Here, you'll track the Ewaso Nyiro river on guided walks and challenge yourself with an ascent of Ololokwe Mountain. A day is set aside for a vehicle safari through Samburu National Park, offering a chance to witness its rich biodiversity.

Group sizes are capped at 10, ensuring an intimate and personalized adventure.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi & Journey to Lake Naivasha
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi on your overnight flight. Aim to land before 12:00 noon for a smooth start to your adventure. From Nairobi, we drive to Sanctuary Farm, nestled on the serene banks of Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, stretch your legs with a nature walk around the conservancy—your first opportunity to spot Kenya’s wildlife while acclimating to the higher altitudes.
Accommodation: Camping in Savage Wilderness tents at a well-equipped campsite featuring flush toilets and showers.

Day 2: Crescent Island Hike & Hell's Gate Adventure
Start the day with a boat ride to Crescent Island Conservancy, where we’ll hike across its beautiful landscapes. Keep an eye out for wildlife roaming freely in this open sanctuary. On the return boat safari, you’ll have the chance to spot hippos, fish eagles, and the vibrant birdlife unique to this ecosystem. After lunch at camp, choose between mountain biking through the dramatic scenery of Hell’s Gate National Park or unwinding at the Geothermal Spa.
Accommodation: Camping in Savage Wilderness tents at Sanctuary Farm.

Day 3: Into the Aberdares
We leave Naivasha behind and ascend into the Aberdares mountain range. The journey takes us through dense rainforest and opens up into expansive moorlands. This afro-alpine landscape is habitat for elephants, bongos, and buffalos and offers breathtaking views. The higher altitudes bring cooler temperatures, so be sure to pack warm clothing.
Accommodation: Camping in Savage Wilderness tents at a private campsite with bucket showers and short drop toilets.

Day 4: Descent to Nanyuki
Begin the morning with a walk before descending from the mountains. Our journey takes us to Nanyuki, the gateway to northern Kenya. Here, we’ll relax and enjoy a night of comfort at Naro Moro River Lodge.
Accommodation: Naro Moro River Lodge hotel.

Day 5: Safari at Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Set out for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s premier wildlife areas. Expect encounters with  elephants, lions, and more. En route, we’ll cross the equator—perfect for a photo opportunity! We’ll conclude the day by settling into our wild camp in the heart of the conservancy, surrounded by nature.
Accommodation: Wild camping within the conservancy, featuring bucket showers, long-drop toilets, and an electric fence for added security.

Day 6: Journey North to Samburu
Departing Ol Pejeta, we drive north toward the Samburu region. The landscape transitions from lush greenery to arid, rugged terrain. Our destination is Lions Cave Tented Camp, where you can cool off in the swimming pool and unwind from the day’s journey.
Accommodation: Lions Cave Tented Camp—spacious tented rooms with ensuite bathrooms. (Note: Single rooms are limited with only 9 tents available.)

Day 7: Hike the Sacred Mountain of Ololokwe
Rise early for a 5:00 AM departure to Ololokwe Mountain, revered by the Samburu people as a sacred site. This hike promises stunning panoramic views of northern Kenya—an unforgettable highlight of the trip. After the adventure, we return to Lions Cave for a well-earned rest.
Accommodation: Lions Cave Tented Camp—tented rooms with ensuite bathrooms.

Day 8: Safari in Samburu National Park
Samburu National Park remains one of Kenya’s hidden gems, offering a more intimate safari experience due to its lower tourist numbers. This untouched wilderness boasts unique wildlife species found only in this region, alongside abundant elephant populations. It’s one of the best game drives Kenya has to offer.
Accommodation: Lions Cave Tented Camp—tented rooms with ensuite bathrooms.

Day 9: Return to Nairobi
Bid farewell to Samburu and begin our 7-hour drive back to Nairobi. For those with late evening flights (after 7 PM), we’ll ensure timely arrival at the airport. If your flight is the following day, we’ll arrange accommodation at the Radix Hotel for a restful night before departure.
Accommodation: Depart from Kenya or overnight at a hotel in Nairobi.

Day 10: Departure
For those staying the extra night, depart Kenya on your scheduled morning flight.
