Harena Field Trails Camp is unique, the only mobile walking safari in Tuli Block. Guests walk slack-packing style, with the camp moved daily by vehicle.

One camp location is in a spectacular location on the ephemeral Mohave River amidst huge nyala trees overlooking a highway for elephants, leopard and hyena. At night you will hear the lions in the distance. Another location is completely different and the camp is set up amongst high koppies and ridges with stunning sandstone formations, right in the middle of hyena country.

Guided by experienced local guides, most of the walking is done early before the heat of the day, with time to refresh and relax at camp in the middle of the day. Shorter walks take place in the afternoon.

If desired the trail can be shortened to two nights or extended to four. It's also an option to spend a night on arrival at one of the two lodges on the property - Koro Island Camp or Koro River Camp - with transfers by game viewing vehicle before and after the walk.

Camp accommodation includes dome tents with camp cot beds, bucket showers, and fire-cooked meals served at camp tables. A more luxurious version of the camp set-up that features larger tents and real beds is available on request. Guests have the choice to sleep under the stars, with a night watch rota to stay safe.

The Harena Field Camp operates year round with the best conditions from April to October. The minimum group size is four and minimum age is 16.

Central Tuli is accessed by road from South Africa via the Platjan border crossing or by air to the Limpopo Valley Airport. Transfers from the airport or border crossing can be arranged. Self-drive guests will receive directions to Koro River Lodge (high clearance vehicle required) where the vehicle may be securely parked for the duration of the trail.
