This safari operation is a mobile tented camp, with three or six nights at different locations within Hwange National Park. The three night trails stays at one location and the six night trail splits between locations in the north and south of Hwange, showcasing the two vastly different sides of the park.
The vehicle is an 8-seater; however, each trip takes a maximum of 4 people, allowing for great walking opportunities and for every guest to have a “window seat” on the vehicle.
The ensuite tents are custom-made and unique in Zimbabwe. The design allows for maximum airflow and maximum visibility to enhance the bush-immersion feeling. A bed is made up of a high-density foam mattress on a stretcher. The bathroom positioning acts as the privacy screen between each tent. Each bathroom is equipped with a 20L bucket shower heated by fire, a basin, a small mirror, and a shallow drop toilet. There will also be one communal flush loo in each of the camps.
The focus of these safaris is maximising time out in the bush and prioritising special sightings over strict schedules. Allowances will be made for spontaneity, with a fridge/freezer in the back of the vehicle, filled with cold drinks and back-up lunches, and a gas cooker for freshly cooked meals on the go, when needed. In the car, there are USB and plug points where guests can charge their devices and cameras.
Solo guests are welcome.
Guests can take the short flight from Victoria Falls to one of the park’s airstrips, or travel the tar road in a closed vehicle which takes about two hours. Once in the park, they switch to a game viewer vehicle and as the maximum group size is six, nobody is forced to sit in a middle seat. These are “open” safaris which is good news for solo travellers, who can join an existing group with no single supplement
