Taking in three Entara camps, this itinerary offers a mix of game-viewing and fascinating cultural interactions.

Starting with a night in Arusha, guests drive to Olkeri which is in Randilen Wildlife Management Area adjacent to Tarangire National Park. Here, game drives and walks in a stunning landscape are on the menu. After two nights at Olkeri, the next venue is to the west on the shores of Lake Eyasi for a night of fly-camping and then a night at Kisima Ngeda Camp. Your hosts and guides are from the local Hadza community and short walks are an opportunity to learn cultural practices such as the use of poison for arrow tips produced from the desert rose plants, view ancient rock paintings, and bath in spring pools under the shade of rocky outcrops.

After transfer by small plane, the final two nights are spent at the seasonal Esirai Migration Camp in the Northern Serengeti, combining vehicle and foot safaris in the endless grassy plains.

This itinerary is offered in the June to October dry season. Walks and fly-camping from Olkeri and Kisima Ngeda are available year-round subject to safe conditions as ascertained by the walking guide on the ground - enquire for details.

Day 5

We wake up early and enjoy coffee brewed on the fire and a light breakfast. We head out into the hills on foot, escorted by our guides to visit a Hadza encampment, and go hunting, gathering, and hiking with the Hadza into the surrounded woodlands and hills. No two days are identical; the bounty of the season will dictate our activities as well as your own interest.

For a short while, we will try and see as our Hadza guides do. Depending on the season, we might go foraging with the women, dig for roots and tubers, collect berries or trap rodents, or we can range out with the men through the wildlife-rich woodland between towering Baobabs and gnarled acacias, looking for birds and wildlife to hunt. The women are equipped with digging sticks while the men are armed with longbows with poison-tipped arrows and homemade axes used to excavate honey hives. If successful while foraging or hunting, you will be offered to share their caught meal, wild honey, a small antelope, a Francolin, berries, or baobab fruit.

After a morning of learning and adventure, you bid farewell to your Hadza guides and head back to Kisima Ngeda Camp. You will return to camp on time for lunch, a good shower, and a rest.
