Guests at Asilia's Naboisho Camp not only enjoy sweeping views of wildlife-filled savanna, but can set off to explore it on foot. The gentle terrain is good for walks, and the mix of open grasslands and thickets close to camp provide good cover for close encounters with big animals, including elephant and giraffe. Beyond, low hills offer look-out points, and perhaps the chance to spot a leopard at rest in a favourite tree.

Choose between staying at camp and swapping a morning game drive for a walk, or set out in the rich afternoon light to overnight at a pop-up fly-camp. The minimum age for walkers is 16.

For overnight walks, the usual routine is to set off in mid-afternoon as temperatures drop. Guests are accompanied by a professional guide and a tracker, and the walking pace is moderate. There are frequent stops to scan for wildlife ahead, as the area has a healthy population of the full range of plans game, and their predators.

Before sunset, camp is reached, and a warm bucket shower can be arranged. The camp cuisine matches the standards at camp, with a four course meal served by the fire. Guests sleep on mattresses in dome tents, immersed in the African nocturnal soundscape.
